Tigersaurus – The Artist

One day a Tigersaurus was swimming across the ocean in the evening. She was going to the art club and she was very excited where she would make new friends. When she finally reached there, she said to everyone“ Hello , my name is Jessica and I am a Tigersaurus.” Everyone just stared at her. One of them said “ My name is Rosella and I am a Tigersaurus as well. ”

So then everyone else in the room started laughing. Then Rosella said “ what’s so funny? ”

“ Don’t you know silly!” grinned a boy named Billy.

“This is for experts, so go somewhere else or you’ll be punished by me and my big best friend.”

Then, Rosella challenged Billy and his big best friend for an art contest and who ever loses, will have to leave the art club forever and never return.

After she had said it, she felt that it was quite frightening and she would have to leave the art club forever if she lost. She almost wanted to take her words back but her motto was  - if she gives her word, she never took it back -  even if that means she would have to work very long hours to win the contest.

Billy blurted out, “ I will make a deal only if you show to the judges your painting tomorrow morning at 6 o’clock.”

Rosella said, “ That’s fine by me!! But you will have to do it as well and let the whole art club be the judge and they can choose the best painting by voting. Whoever wins the most votes will be chosen to be the winner and they will be crowned as the – Artist of the club. Okay?”

Billy grunted but said “yes”. His face turned red with anger and he just ran out of the class so that he could get as much time as possible to get his painting done.

Billy quickly reached home and started getting the stuff he needed for the art contest. He drew a picture of a messy Banana. Quickly, he scrunched the paper and threw it in the bin. He thought to himself that he was never going to win like that.

Mean while, Jessica was helping Rosella paint a magnificent blue Macao. When she finished it up, it as  beautiful as the real Macao. She signed it at the bottom – For my friend Jessica, from Rosella..

Rosella had not known that while she was painting, Billy was watching her. As Billy was about to leave, a net fell from above on to him. Then, Rosella and Jessica came out and said to Billy, “That’s what you get for spying on people.”

Billy cried, “ I wasn’t spying on you. I was came around and was going to the shop to buy some colours for my painting. Anyway, my painting is much better than yours!!! ”

Rosella spoke in stern voice, “ that’s what you think, you don’t know for sure. Let the judges decide. See you in morning at 6 o’clock.”

Rosella and Jessica rushed into the house and closed the curtains, shut all the doors and windows, so no one could snoop around.

Billy had no other choice than to leave. Suddenly, his eye caught something, he went to the top of the water and while going to the top of the water, his mind’s light bulb switched on and he got a brilliant idea.

He thought to himself, “ May be, I can ask an expert Artist to make a painting of me, for myself and then I can take it as my own painting. No one will ever know.” An evil smile swiped through his lips.

“ I will still have to scrape the signature of the artist and write my own name there”

So, he worked on his idea and got himself and nice painting from the best artist in the town and got his name written on it. He was very confident that Rosella and Jessica will now have to leave school as he is definitely going to win.

In the morning, Jessica added more sparkle from her tail to the painting. It looked awesome and both of them were very happy with the way the painting looked.

They went to the art school at 6, where everyone was waiting from them along with Billy, who had his painting covered in a cloth.

Then one of the student from the art club shouted, “ Before we see the painting, both of you will have to paint the same thing again to make sure you did not cheat and take help from an expert artist”

“ Fine by me.. can’t wait to start” said Rosella and Jessica at the same time. Then Rosella and Jessica looked at Billy, who trembling with fear and his face had got white as a ghost.

Another student said, “ You are not allowed to see the picture you painted. You only get an hour to complete your painting, if not, you will be crowned as – Bad Artist of the entire club. Let the contest begin.”

They painted for one hour and then they were ready to show their two paintings each. On the left side was Rosella and right was Billy.

“Billy, do you want go first?”, said Jessica. As Billy looked toward Jessica, he turned pale with shock at what he saw. The expert artist who had painted for Billy last night had heard of this contest and come to vote as well.

Billy said, “ I am not feeling well and might not have the courage to show first, Rosella goes first.”

Rosella picked up the painting and removed the covers from both the paintings in one go. The whole club cheered and started clapping.

Someone said . “ Excellent, they look exactly the same!” Another one said, “ Beautiful painting, I love the blue tail with the sparkle!”

Jessica winked at Rosella and gave her a big hug. The painting got 28 votes out of 30. Only Billy and his big best friend did not vote for the painting.

Now it was Billy’s turn. He took the covers away and everyone gasped and was in shock at what they saw. On one hand was a beautiful painting of Billy and on the other hand was a this ugly looking painting with colours scrabbling across. Everyone booed and he got only 1 vote, which was his own. Even his best friend did not like what he had painted. The expert artist came to the stage and told everyone the truth.

Billy was ashamed and said sorry to the entire club and especially Jessica and Rosella for being mean and rude. He was then about to leave the club forever, when a sweet voice came and said, “ You can stay Billy, as long as you are nice and courteous to everyone.”

“ Thank you very much, Rosella. You are a super girl and so is Jessica. Please can accept me as your friend. ” 

“ Off course Billy, as long as you are not a Bully.” The entire club broke into laughter and started clapping and so did Billy, Jessica and Rosella.
